Mary Baldwin University’s online Master of Arts in Teaching is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Potential Careers with a MA in Teaching

Graduates from the online MAT program are prepared to earn their license to teach in Virginia in their area of endorsement.

Admissions Requirements

All education programs require the following:

  • A minimum GPA: 3.0
  • English language proficiency

Areas of emphasis leading to licensure in which students must hold an active VA license:

  • Elementary Education PK-6
  • Special Education General Curriculum K-12
  • Special Education General Curriculum Add-on K-6, 6-8, or 6-12

Areas of emphasis that can be completed with or without seeking licensure:
